Built on Family, Fueled by Flavor, Shared with Community
How It All Began
Back in 1990, I was just a young woman with a dream. My name is Veronica Favela, and I opened Favela’s Mexican Grill with my father, Elisardo, right here in Fairfield, California. We saw a need for a casual Mexican restaurant that offered great food, friendly service, and fair prices. We wanted to create a place that felt like home for everyone who walked in.
Inspired by Family and Tradition
My father and I grew up with rich food traditions, and we believed those flavors should be shared with our community. We built our restaurant around the same meals we loved growing up—tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and more—all made fresh, every day. More than just food, we wanted to share our family’s spirit of warmth, care, and hospitality.
Expanding the Dream
By 1993, word had spread. Customers from Vacaville kept asking when we’d open a location closer to them. So we did. Our second Favela’s Mexican Grill opened at 2040 Harbison Dr, Vacaville, CA—and just like our first, it stayed true to our original mission. Fresh food, quick service, and a welcoming vibe.
Staying True to Our Values
Even as we grew, we never lost focus. Our food is still made from scratch daily using top-quality ingredients—no shortcuts, no lard, no preservatives. We even worked with a nutritionist to offer a guide for our health-conscious guests. It’s all part of ensuring that everyone who eats here feels satisfied with their meal.
